This policy explains what happens to information when you visit mohitramani.com. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, email mohit@empyrealinfotech.com and it will be explained in plain terms.

Who runs this site

This website is operated by Mohit Ramani, systems architect and Founder & CEO of Empyreal Infotech, working across Rajkot, Gujarat, India and London, United Kingdom.

What is collected

This site has no accounts, no login, no shopping cart and no contact form. Nothing is typed into this website and stored by it. What exists is the following.

Server logs

Like every web server, the hosting server records a standard request log when a page is served. That log can include your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. This is generated automatically by the hosting infrastructure and is used for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how people arrive. It is loaded only after you interact with the page, and it is disabled entirely when the site runs on localhost during development.

Email you choose to send

Buttons on this site open your own email client or webmail with an address pre-filled. Nothing is sent until you send it. If you do email, that message and your address sit in the ordinary business email inbox and are used only to reply to you and to carry out any work that follows.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies of its own. It stores nothing in your browser's local storage.

The cookies that may be set are placed by Google Analytics and the associated Google tag, and are used to tell one visit from another and to measure traffic. Google acts as a processor for this measurement data.

If you would rather not be measured at all, any of these work: use your browser's "Do Not Track" or tracking-protection setting, block analytics with a content blocker, install Google's opt-out browser add-on, or browse in a private window and clear cookies afterwards. None of it changes what you can read here.

Why it is processed

• To keep the site working and safe - server logs, fault diagnosis, abuse prevention. The lawful basis is legitimate interest in running a secure website.
• To understand what is worth writing - aggregated analytics about which pages get read. The lawful basis is consent where required for analytics cookies, otherwise legitimate interest.
• To answer you - if you email, the lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, or legitimate interest in replying to a professional enquiry.

None of this is used for automated decision-making or profiling, and none of it is sold.

Who it is shared with

Information is never sold, rented or traded. It reaches only the service providers that make the site run:

• Hosting provider - serves the pages and holds the server logs.
• Google (Analytics) - processes the measurement data described above.
• jsDelivr - a public CDN that delivers one small animation script; your browser's request to it exposes your IP address to that CDN, as with any third-party asset on any website.
• Email provider - handles messages you choose to send.

Beyond that, information is disclosed only where the law requires it.

How long it is kept

• Server logs are kept for a short operational period and then rotated out by the hosting provider.
• Analytics data is retained under the retention period configured in Google Analytics, in aggregated form.
• Email correspondence is kept while it is useful for the working relationship and for as long as tax or legal record-keeping requires, then deleted.

International transfers

This site is operated from India and the United Kingdom, and the providers above may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers publish, such as standard contractual clauses and adequacy decisions.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, to withdraw consent, and to receive it in a portable form. These rights come from the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, and from India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

To exercise any of them, email mohit@empyrealinfotech.com. There is no charge and you will get a reply within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU and are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to your data protection authority - in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the server and the email account is restricted and protected. No website can promise perfect security, but the amount of personal data this one holds is deliberately close to zero, which is the strongest protection available.

Children

This site is aimed at founders, operators and technical teams. It is not directed at children under 16, and no information is knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has sent personal information, email the address above and it will be deleted.

Third-party links

This site links out to LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook and other external pages. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's website, under their privacy policy and their terms. This policy covers only mohitramani.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version is published on this page and the date at the top is updated. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
